World production will rise in 2012
The global car production this year will rise to 79.4 million units, which will mean an increase of 6.3% compared to 74.7 million units recorded in 2011, according to a report Pwc sector.
The report shows that the production of light vehicles will increase in all regions, except Europe, where economic weakness in 2012 propitiate a decrease of 590,000 units compared to 2011
At the opposite end, PwC believes there are reasons for optimism in analyzing the trend of emerging countries, especially Brazil, China and India, but also from Russia, which will consolidate another year the strength of demand. Thus, the report predicts that the BRIC countries, car production this year will experience an increase of 11%, or 2.56 million units in absolute terms, compared to 6% increase recorded in 2011.
Similarly, the study notes that Japan and Thailand recorded a rise in car production, the order of 1.45 million units between the two countries after natural disasters in 2011.
With respect to North America, PwC sees a continued recovery of the automotive industry, with production in 2012 of 756,000 units in 2011 and a volume of U.S. sales of 13.6 million units.
